After a three-year hiatus, we got back in front of the cameras with new recipes we cooked over the open flame of a gas grill instead of a campfire. Although some viewers emailed to tell us they preferred seeing recipes cooked on the open fire, most appreciated new ways to use more accessible gas grills for full menus and more than just grilled meats.
As we approach the new year, we haven’t yet decided if we’ll be producing new Campfire Cafe episodes. The demands on our time, given the show is not part of our core business anymore, may not permit us to continue production.
We’d like to thank the good folks at RFD-TV for their support and all the loyal viewers who continue to watch our program! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all of us at Campfire Cafe!
I think this show is the best cooking show. It’s a combination of history and cooking all-in-one. It’s the way our pioneer ancestors did it and why not it produces some of the best food around. I am a big fan of the show and as well as cast iron cooking. The Camp Dutch Oven is one of my favorite things to cook in everything comes out great and its a good way to spend time outdoors whether I’m camping in the remote or just in my backyard. I see why Lewis and Clark had never considered leaving behind their cast iron cookware.
Great show keep it goin!
Thank you, Jeremy! We think it is so important to “know” how to cook, even if we take advantage of shortcuts in our daily lives. You might just need to drop back to the old pioneer ways in the event of, say…economical collapse, or any number of natural or man-made disasters. We heard from many who had watched the show and learned how to cook over an open fire – then were grateful to have that knowledge in the wake of Katrina! Of course, you hope to always use this know-how for recreational purposes, but when the power goes for whatever reason, it is too late to learn – and you gotta eat regardless of the conditions. One of the reasons Lewis and Clark could never consider leaving behind the cast iron!
So glad to see you are back and running again.. I use my Cowboy Cooking Set all the time.. I am so glad to see you have it back in production.. I hated having to tell all of people who stop at my campsite that they can not get one. I need to get a second swing grill…so I will be watching to see when they start coming in stock. Best of Luck. Patti a Hagerstown KOA cooker..
Ah Patti – so good to hear from you! I hope all is well and thank you for continuing to support Campfire Cafe! The shows begin airing again on July 5th – and this initial series is a repeat of the KOA Tour, so look for the Hagerstown episode!

Pam,
It’s great to see you guys returning to RFD TV. Say hello to Larry, Bob and, Murphy.
WE’RE SO EXCITED. We met you folks in Petosky MI KOA and camped next to you. We had a blast and were so sad when the show ended. We are anticipating the review of the KOA tour. Michael is excited to see himself on TV again. Our cookset is a hit at the campgrounds and people gather around to see & taste what we are cooking. We have several guests usually for desert! We hope there is another tour. Jackie, Tom & Michael #1 fan. PS he still wears his shirt you had made for him! Little small, but works. Tell Bob Roadie the blender is still going strong!
Howdy, I feel your weblog is good. I found it on bing. I’ll bring in my buddy come to your blog.
Larry, my friend! So good to hear from you! I hope you’re enjoying a great summer and doing some outdoor cooking of your own!
Jackie it is so good to hear from you! Tell Michael we’re very proud he has developed cooking skills at such a young age, and we remain his #1 Fan as well! Thanks for watching and look for “little” Michael on the rerun soon!
Pam, unfortunately I do not have satellite tv; however, I do have your nieces, Samantha and Crystal who keep me in the loop. They gave me your cookbook for Christmas last year. I used your banana/pineapple coffeecake recipe at Camp Daniel Boone last week and won the dutch oven cookoff with it. The DO was clean when it was returned to me. Much thanks. Barbara
Wow, I was searching for details relating to apple pie recipes and saw your website. Nevertheless I’m glad I did. Funny just how we find new websites on the web.
