Campfire Cafe® started as a nationally broadcast television show which demonstrated open-fire cooking techniques developed by the team at EMG Productions. The program aired for 9 seasons on RFD-TV and continues to air on some public broadcast and cable stations across the country.
Recipes for the show are always selected and tested by me, and I am the sole author of our "Over The Open Fire" cookbook (although credit was shared with a previous host out of courtesy). Co-host Larry Wiseheart and I cook anything and everything over the open fire - but all the recipes can just as easily be cooked in the kitchen or on a gas grill. Husband and co-producer Bob Alford has had the help of many cameramen during production, and we thank Bill Coomer, Robert Floyd, and many others for their contributions over the years. Mary Monahan keeps it all running smoothly and answers your technical questions!
By 2007, demanding production schedules and the high cost of television airtime prompted us to focus totally on Internet broadcast. With the launch of our revised video website, loyal viewers of Campfire Cafe® can now watch previous and new episodes online. In addition, we've added a new video sharing site so you can upload and share videos of recipes cooked at your own Campfire Cafe! Share videos of outdoor cooking from your own camping, boating, fishing, trailriding, or sporting activities.
Once the crew no longer had the rigorous deadlines and demands of television broadcast, we found ourselves with extra time that was spent filming more outdoor cooking. In the coming months, we'll be adding a great deal of new content to our site, so bookmark it, tell your friends, and come back to visit with us often!
